“Wisers Epidemic Index” and “Netizens’ Sentiment Index”
Since the first confirmed case occurred in Hong Kong on January 23, the epidemic has been developing for a long time. Wisers analyzes the sentiment changes of HongKongers during the fight against the epidemic, including what incidents made them happiest, most wearisome and furious and its causes. Wisers selects 10 government anti-epidemic measures from three categories(i.e. disease control measures, anti-epidemic materials and financial assistance) to analyze the trend of public opinion, discussion focus, likes and dislikes, and evaluate the degree of acceptance of different measures by netizens.
Since the outbreak of the epidemic, the focus of the public has been from border closure to the return of international students, from panic buying masks to supporting Hong Kong-made masks, from home quarantine to the gathering restriction.
